When 19-year-old Kong’s parents became sick, she felt helpless. Kong had no job in Cambodia and there were no savings to fall back on, so they had to sell the family house to cover medical costs.As soon as the team from CHO saw how desperately vulnerable Kong’s family were they came alongside them. They visited and prayed with the family, helping them realise they were not alone. And they offered Kong a place on their skills-training programme.
As a result, Kong learnt valuable business skills – growing quickly in confidence as well as practical knowledge. With a small loan from CHO, Kong bought some equipment and opened a shop selling snacks and drinks.
Today, she can pay her parents’ healthcare fees as well as provide for her own needs now and in the future. She is filled with hope and excitement, her family is secure, and it’s all thanks to you.
